College Just Ahead: Empowering Parents on Prevention & Intervention of Sexual Violence Seminar Info: The YWCA of Metropolitan Chicago and Guard Llama are teaming up to provide a training that focuses on creating awareness of the various facets of sexual violence as well as tools for prevention. Parents will gain a basic understanding of school policy surrounding these issues, and ways they can contribute to a healthy campus experience for their soon-to-be college student. Click to learn more about Guard Llama. Trainer Bio: Alexandra Kumin received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Spanish and International Studies. She is state certified in Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention through the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault and chairs their statewide committee on Sexual Violence Prevention Education. She currently works as the Coordinator of Training and Social Learning at the YWCA, delivering tailored programs on sexual violence prevention to professionals, parents, and students across the Chicagoland area. She has worked at the YWCA for the last five years and has a passion for engaging professionals, students, and parents in preventing violence through community engagement.
